Final Project Script

Girl, Stella, writing a bunch of letters in her bedroom, variations of the same "Dear Coraline, I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me" and "Dear Coraline, why did you have to go away when things were so good." These are read in an internal monologue format.

Stella sighs, looking at the letters, and then it cuts to a flashback.

FLASHBACK:

Stella and Coraline laugh on the swings, and jump around at the park giggling and smiling.

PRESENT:

Stella tosses the letters into a pile and grabs her backpack, going down the stairs. She pauses listening to a fight behind a cracked door.

MOM: WE CAN'T JUST LET HER THROW EVERYTHING AWAY BECAUSE OF THIS, SHE HAS TO START HEALING.

DAD: YOU CAN'T EXPECT HER JUST TO FORGET HER SISTER.

MOM: You know thats not what I meant.

Stella continues downstairs, hearing a car honk, she goes out the front door.

JULIA: Come on Stella, let's go!

Julia, in her car, plays music loudly. Stella walks around and gets in the car, and she starts to smile when she is there. They start driving to school.

STELLA: Julia, you gotta turn it down a little bit. You're making me go deaf.

Julia sings over her, and then drives past the school.

STELLA: Why are you driving past school? We have class in 10 minutes.

JULIA: We aren't going today Stella. We need to get out of this routine, and you can't just stop living. You have so much left to see, and we are going to start right now.

Julia turns the music back up, smiles at Stella.

STELLA: in her head, *Things haven't been the same since what happened to Caroline, but maybe things could get better.*
