Music Video Mini Project

         This music video project allowed me and my group members to put our new knowledge of cinematography to artistic use. We were so excited to be given this opportunity and are pretty proud of our creation! One specific shot we implemented in our music video is the over-the-shoulder shot, which we covered in great detail over the course of this unit. (0:21) I like this shot because it shows POV effectively, and we switched between perspectives to show both sides of the story. We also experimented with many other unfamiliar types of shots, such as the reflection in the mirror (0:28) or the spinning "pan" shot (0:40). I think these shots were very successful in conveying the feelings present in the song. The spinning, disorienting moment at the music's highest point emphasizes this very emotional build. Media Reflection #2

               Over the years, growing up on social media, I've gotten a bit of surface level experience with taking photos, recording videos, etc. I take a lot of photos of interesting things I see or places I go, and sometimes I edit them for social media . T aking photos in this sense does require some attention to lighting, framing, and other details relevant to fi lmmaking . Here is a photo I took of some ducks in Washington D.C. :     I thought the ducks were cute and wanted to take a playful photo. However, t he lighting turned out to have a cool effect, and I also like the framing. While I paid very little attention to these details when taking the p hoto, now that I have learned about these specific aspects of filmmaking, these concepts stand out to me when I view the photo.
